Roof Refurbishment, Strathaven, Near Glasgow

This project started off as a storm damage insurance claim when part of the facia boarding came off in a storm. Our survey highlighted that the previous installation of PVC roofline cladding had not been installed correctly and caused extensive wet rot to the perimeter roof timbers.  The entire roof had to be stripped and re-tiled and rafter ends renewed.

This project involved the upgrading of the roof and gable panel timbers. In addition to direct replacement we upgraded the details by covering the more exposed timnbers in powder coated aluminium.  We also coated the timbers in a microporous woodstain rather than a traditional gloss paint finish.
