Extension & Kitchen Inverkip
This relatively new house was altered internally and extended to the rear to form a large open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with a large glazed screen and patio door set to appreciate the panoramic views over the Clyde estuary. An entirely new kitchen, feature gas fire and underfloor heating system was fitted within the new space.
Extension, Drymen
This extension was added off the kitchen area to create a new dining area and family room. The extension was formed and then the gable wall was removed to minimise the time the client would be without kitchen facilities. The upper floor of the extension has a balcony with glass balustrade off the master bedroom. The extension has a steel framework with attic trusses above to allow for more glazing and an open plan feel to the design. Bespoke factory finished timber windows and doors were supplied by Blairs of Greenock. Underfloor heating was installed in the ground floor area.
Extension, Eaglesham
A substantial portion of the rear wall was removed to extend this house off the dining area to create a new open plan dining area and family room. The client also instructed us to re-render and re-roof the house as part of the project. Underfloor heating was installed in the ground floor area.
Extension, Bearsden
This detached 1930’s house was modernised by us internally when the client first bought the house. This extension was added off the kitchen area to create a new dining area and family room. To retain the window to the upper bedroom the roof was formed as a flat roof with traditional lead sheet covering providing a longer term solution than most flat roofing materials. The garden was also re-shaped as part of this project as a retaining wall was required due to level differences. New paths and patio areas were formed around the house and a monoblock driveway added.
Extension, Grade B listed building, West End, Glasgow
This extension created two bedrooms and a shower area. We also altered the location of the access stair in the property to reduce the amount of redundant circulation space. We also replaced the clients kitchen in the existing house. The listed planning consent asked for a low profile form of construction so that the exetension was not obvious from the rear lane. This was achieved by underpinning the boundary walls and lowering the floor below ground level. The roof level was kept to a minmum by covering with code 8 lead. The natural stone was locally sourced new stone.
Extension, Ayr Road, Newton Mearns
This extension created a self contained "granny flat " at garden level for the elderly parents of our client by including the basement area which had to be excavated by hand, underpinned and damp proofed. On the first floor an open plan dining kitchen dining room was formed together with a shared access stair to the rear garden.
Extension, Newton Mearns
This extension was created to form a nursery off the parents bedroom. Lots of natural light was introduced via the additional triple glazed velux windows in the roof. The client asked us to complete only the main shell of the building. He completed all of the insulation, dry lining and services himself.
